Cambs NHW was formed in November 1998 as an Executive Group to promote good citizenship, greater public participation across the County in the prevention and solving of crime and to encourage improved communication between NHW Members and the Cambs Constabulary so that effective liaison between the police and the public could be enhanced.
The Constitution for the Group was updated in August 2010 (to view a copy of the Constitution go to next menu drop-down). It established a formal structure for Cambridgeshire NHW and an executive group forum whereby representatives elected by the various NHW Associations and separate Village / Parish schemes in the Policing Sectors of Cambridgeshire may meet, discuss, agree and maintain an effective organisation structure to assist all Cambridgeshire communities in their efforts to improve their quality of life and to reduce their fear of crime in their local areas.
Many of the Group objectives are included in an agreed written working relationship (Service Level Agreement) between the Executive Group and the Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
